Three cities in India will host official World Cup practice matches

This year’s official pre-tournament schedule for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in India has been released.

The 10 countries will compete in two official 50-over games apiece the week before the World Cup begins on October 5. The games will take place in three different Indian cities. The games, which will take place between Friday, September 29, and Tuesday, October 3, in Guwahati, Hyderabad, and Thiruvananthapuram, will give teams the ideal chance to acclimatize to the conditions they will likely encounter at the World Cup.

The first match of the warm-up matches features Bangladesh vs. Sri Lanka in Guwahati, South Africa vs. Afghanistan in Thiruvananthapuram, and New Zealand vs. Pakistan in Hyderabad.

Teams will be able to field the full complement of their 15-player squads during the matches, which all start at 2:00 IST. 

World Cup practice matches:

Friday, September 29th

South Africa will play Afghanistan at Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, and New Zealand will play Pakistan at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Bangladesh will play Sri Lanka at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.

September 30th, Saturday

Australia against. Netherlands at Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram; India vs. England at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati

Monday, October 2nd 

New Zealand against. South Africa at Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram; England vs. Bangladesh at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati

Tuesday, October 3rd

Pakistan vs. Australia at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad; Afghanistan vs. Sri Lanka at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati; India vs. the Netherlands at Greenfield Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram
