For Sussex’s first seven County Championship games in 2024, Cheteshwar Pujara will be on the field. Daniel Hughes will take Pujara’s place after the seventh game and be available for the remainder of the County fixtures as well as the T20 Vitality Blast beginning at the beginning of the season.
Paul Farbrace, the head coach of Sussex, has decided not to field Pujara in the 2024 Domestic One-Day Cup. For the 2024 season, Jayden Seales and Nathan McAndrew, two overseas bowlers, were signed. Pujara has amassed 1863 runs at 64.24 in his 18 County Championship games for Sussex, with three fifty-score innings and eight hundreds.
Pujara expressed his happiness at being back in the county, saying, “I have enjoyed my time at Hove the last couple of seasons and couldn’t be more delighted to be back again with the Sussex family.” “I am looking forward to joining the team and contributing to its success.”
Paul Farbrace, the head coach of Sussex, welcomed Pujara back to the club and said, “I am delighted that Cheteshwar is returning to Hove again for the first two months of the season.” He is an excellent footballer, but he’s an even better guy. His expertise and composure during games are a great benefit to our club.”
