Suryakumar completes surgery

Suryakumar Yadav, anticipated to return in a week, had his groin surgery in Germany. This is his second recent medical procedure of this kind. On Wednesday, an expert performed surgery on the World No. 1 T20I men’s batter in Munich. Like the procedure KL Rahul had in 2022, the groin or sports hernia operation will require at least four to five weeks for recuperation; however, Surya’s rehabilitation may take longer.

In addition to the ankle surgery he had last month following an injury sustained during the Twenty20 International series in South Africa, this new medical treatment is his second. He may be ready for the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is scheduled to start in the final week of March, according to sources within the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). He will also undoubtedly be fit for the T20 World Cup in June.

A few well-timed and well-calibrated decisions have been made by the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to guarantee that Surya, who is crucial to India’s chances in the World Cup, will be ready for action come June. In the past, the NCA had made similarly thoughtful decisions to send Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer, and Rahul, who all recovered in time for the World Cup that was played in October and November of last year. Surya was at the NCA recovering before taking a Tuesday flight to Munich.

Hernias and groin surgeries are often not regarded as serious conditions, according to sources. People who have these operations are frequently permitted to jog starting on the second day. Suryakumar’s treatment approach, however, is different because he recently underwent ankle surgery. Late on Wednesday night, he shared a photo from his surgery. Devisha, his wife, is with him.
